![]() Thanks to the efforts of Gene Dotson and the help of his brothers Larry and Gary, CubFest 2008 was held in De Graff, Ohio. Many folks showed up to work on Cubs and meet new members as well as see old friends. As with any other CubFest fun was had by all. Carburetor rebuilds and heli-coiling were a big projects for the weekend. Carl and Cecil took on much of this. They showed many of the newbies how to correct many problems. One interesting thing that Cecil pointed out was that some idle tubes are longer than others and can bottom out. A little modification can easily cure this. Rick Prentice brought his dyno for anyone to hook up to. He and Larry Dotson stayed busy having fun with that. Several Cubs were put through their paces and the data recorded for future reference. If you have never seen this you are missing another fine piece of work from Mr. KubKraft. Rick also loaned his expertise with some carb work. One obvious difference this year was the fact that George Willer was not in attendance. Anyone who has ever met George knows his love for these get togethers. Everywhere you looked there was someone hoisting their drink to toast George. George, you were greatly missed. We all hope to see you soon. |

When Steve Butram (Steve B), George Hibbs and Lurker Carl get together there is a good chance they are talking Cubs.

After getting the carb straightened out on #5 more was found that required the removal of the hood. Well, needless to say, you know what happens when you do that... |
